Dr. Adam Lauver joined the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at Michigan State University in 2016 and currently serves as an Associate Professor and Director of the MSU Certara Center of Excellence for Model-Informed Drug Development. He earned a B.S. in Biology from Penn State University and a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the University of Michigan.

Dr. Lauver's research focuses on translational cardiovascular pharmacology, with particular interests in thrombosis, platelet biology, vascular dysfunction, and cardiovascular drug safety. Drawing on prior experience in the pharmaceutical industry, his laboratory integrates drug discovery, pharmacokinetics, preclinical safety assessment, and translational modeling to advance the development of novel therapeutics. His group is also actively engaged in studies of vascular biology, hypertension, obesity-related cardiovascular disease, and emerging approaches to model-informed drug development.

An enthusiastic educator, Dr. Lauver has taught pharmacology and cardiovascular physiology to undergraduate, graduate, medical, nursing, and veterinary students. He is committed to creating engaging learning experiences and continually refining his teaching methods to promote student success. Through mentorship of graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, professional students, and undergraduate researchers, he strives to foster a collaborative environment that encourages scientific curiosity, critical thinking, and professional growth.

Dr. Lauver leads a diverse, multidisciplinary research team whose collective expertise fosters a dynamic atmosphere of discovery, innovation, and translational impact.
